My Life Changing Books & Podcast Picks
Books & podcast episodes that have shaped my perception of wellness
I recently have been re-reading An Everlasting Meal by Tamara Adler, which in my eyes, reads more as a food philosophy book rather than a book about food or a general cookbook. It’s one of those books that gets you excited about the beauty of food and makes you realize how nourishing yourself can be a simple act of revolution. If you are new to cooking I would highly recommend this book as it’s a gentle reminder of how easy whipping up something to eat really is. Buy fresh eggs, whisk well, put in a hot pan with butter. Breakfast. I think we can all lose sight of how easy cooking actually is when we are always being sold tools and things to make cooking “easier”.
Podcasts are something else that have really shaped my philosophy surrounding food and nutrition. I am so thankful for the knowledge of naturopaths, acupuncturists, doctors, therapists, writers, and other nutritionists who share their wisdom. A wellness foundation for me is putting on a good podcast episode, going for a walk in nature, and taking time to process the information afterwards (I’ll even re-listen to the same one and takes notes if it’s really good!). Next time you find yourself in a funk, I highly recommend finding a nice trail or a neighborhood walk, putting on your headphones, and getting lost in a good podcast.
